Intramural intertube waterpolo game. BYU offers some great things.

Unfortunately I did not take picture to represent my emotions of this day but today was a good day. I found out that I am going to be studying in EUROPE THIS SUMMER! Yup, that's right. From June 20-August 8 I will be traveling around Britain studying the English Language. I am super excited. We are going to stay in London in flats for three weeks then we will travel all about to places like Ireland, Wales and Scotland. I am so thankful for the opportunity to be able to travel.
Oh hi there London.

We made gluten free cookies tonight!

Just a normal Saturday night after the basketball game.

The One, The Only, Heather

My roommate Heather just turned 20 years old! My little baby girl is growing up! But in all seriousness. If I would have ever known how great our friendship would have been after meeting freshman year I would have never believed it. So in honor of her awesomeness I am going to make a list of the things I love about her.

Reasons why Heather rocks:
1. She ALWAYS can make me laugh. Without exception. Whenever I am with her I am always laughing at something. I think it is her ability to just laugh at herself and anything that happens.
2. She is crazy. In a good way. This kind of goes with number one but she is literally always a party. We have countless memories of Heather being insane. And what is great about it, is that she doesn't get embarrassed. She embraces her crazyness.
3. Her love and passion for animals. This is really apparent from the picture above. I love that I can buy her a crazy elephant shirt and she will put it on right away and wear it her whole birthday!
4. We can just look at each other and know what we are meaning. But seriously, people have told us how they often get lost in conversation with us because we have so many inside jokes. Or... we don't even need words and we will just look at each other and we start laughing.
5.  She puts up with me! We have been roommates for nearly two years now and I can be completely myself around her. No faking or competition.
6. Her funny sayings. "I don't give a flying fart in space" "Mother father!" "Poop" "Praise Allah"
7. Okay, I know there are more things to say but It's early (OK, it's noon but still.) She is just the best. The end.

Happy 20th birthday Heather!! :)

Unlimited bowling at Fat Cats. A good way to pregame Heather's 20th birthday!

Utah can be quite beautiful.

Even though I am not in astronomy anymore I ended up in the astronomy lab. As my friend was getting help I went a little geeky and read the astronomy textbook as well as magazines with titles like Space Explored or Outta This World. Okay, I might have made that up but still, you get the idea.

Nick and I were on a team for Settlers of Catan and won! I would like to say it was because of my awesome dice rolling skills but I think Nick really led the team for this win.

Matt Costa came to BYU to play and I was able to go. It was a pretty chill concert. I have to admit I do not know a lot of his music but I liked what I heard.
Check out my new favorite song of his:

Today I felt like a little kid again. For example, in my geology class we went outside to experiment with Coca-Cola and Mentos. After class, Erin, Sarah, Nick and I went to play croquet in the park and I played with a puppy and went on the swings. After that, Erin and I went outside to play basketball and frisbee. A lot of our friends joined us and it felt like a summer afternoon in the cul-de-sac with people just enjoying being outside. Did I mention it was more than 50 degrees today? In January. It rocked. In the evening a bunch our of friends went up the canyon and had a bonfire. People were singing Disney songs and we told scary stories. Today was a great day.

Sarah, Nick and I went to breakfast. Last night Nick suggested going to Village Inn but Sarah and I weren't really feeling it and he said we could pick. We knew that Nick really wanted to go though. So this morning we blind folded him and went to Village Inn as a surprise. This is a picture of Nick and the manager. Sorry it was blurry but I was laughing so hard. Nick was a great sport with mine and Sarah's craziness.

Today I attended the funeral for Spot the fish. Sam, Elan, Ben, Matt and Brady put on a beautiful service for Spot. There must have been at least 30 people there to show their respects, standing room only! It was even an open casket, and burial of Spot right outside their window. Brady performed a original song about Spot. My favorite line was, "and I'll remember you while I am getting fat, eating the snack that smiles back." But in all seriousness, this is one reason I love college. We can have nearly the whole ward attend a funeral for a goldfish. It is just so fun and silly.

Sometimes I just eat right out of the pot. I think this can define college life.

Happy MLK day. We are getting pretty good at making breakfasts.

Friday, January 13, 2012

My friends and I went into the wilderness and made a bonfire! Can you believe it is January and we were outside at night!? In Utah too! I think I am doing better about appreciating Utah more from my 2012 goals! We had a blast roasting marshmallows and telling stories. I love apartment 37!

Thursday, January 12, 2012

We had a pretty big UNO tournament at our apartment today. After everyone had left my friend challenged me to make a tower out of UNO cards. Challenge accepted. I think I did pretty well. Except the fact he had made one with nine layers. But still! It is quite addicting though so I think I will have to stop trying or I might not do too well in school.

Faces in places. Cam made this lovely piece of work. What you don't see in this picture is Cam flicking a match, it lighting, and nearly catching my pants on fire. Okay, I am being a little dramatic but it was pretty fun to watch. Good thing I have cat like reflexes.

Monday, January 9, 2012

We had a fiesta in our apartment cooking tonight! I made Spanish rice and chicken quesadilla while Heather made awesome cheese enchiladas. We are definitely becoming great domesticated homemakers.

Erin, Heather and Uni. Happy Sunday Snuggling!

BYU vs. USF. Our team was looking pretty good!

Friday, January 6, 2012

My day started off with Mitchell texting me in my first class like this, "Are you and Erin free tonight? And would you be up for a drive? My friend has Jazz tickets." To which I immediately responded with "Yes!!!"
Who knew we would end up watching the game in the sixth row. It was an amazing experience. Also, the fact that I have gone to two NBA games in just a few weeks is a good ratio to start off 2012.
