My best friend in the whole wide world is engaged! I am so happy for Heather and Alex. I am glad that me and Jimmy got put in charge of puppy and photography duty too. Rain, puppies and diamonds rings are quite romantic.

Tonight the Bikes Out bike gang was created. One for the record book. Riding around the roundabout single file is pretty entertaining with all these friends on bikes.

The summer fun just keeps coming. Spent most of the afternoon and evening up in Big Springs park playing games and grilling food. What more do you need?
Saturday, May 17, 2014

Spent the entire day outside from bike rides to volleyball, jeepin' and fugitive. You can measure a good summer Saturday by the amount of fresh air and sunburn you get. Safe to say it was a good Saturday.

Another great party success. This time it was a summer kick off luau style. Consisted of fruit and candy kabobs. So glad we started off summer right.

Had the amazing opportunity to meet both Stephanie and Christian Nielson. If you have never read their beautiful and inspiring story check out her blog. You will not regret it. I am happy I was able to get a book signed by her for my mom.

VACATION STARTS NOW. Cruise here we come.
Made it in time for the California sunset. Glad to have the toes in between the sand again.

We are on a boat and loving it. I am glad I could room with these girls for the week. There will obviously not be a dull moment.

Started the day off by getting on another boat to get to Catalina Islands.
I could spend the whole day on the beach and be happy.
We finally found the three boys that were usually MIA (Jimmy, Brady and Alan.) But obviously we still couldn't get a group picture as Chloe and Taryn were still kayaking. Kayaking was a blast though. We were able to spot pods of seals while we were out there.
Formal night for dinner tonight.

Driving around in a golf cart with these people made my day. We were able to explore Ensenada and blast our music as loud as we wanted. We were pretty much a party in a moving vehicle.
Stopped for lunch at a local restaurant.
I consider getting on and winning our round of the cruise ship game show to be quite the accomplishment. I was so close to winning the whole thing too. But winning a Yahtzee card game and having fun was still great. Glad I was able to get on the stage with Shelley too. We of course rocked the bowling Yahtzee game as a team from all our practice in bowling this past semester.

Got fourth place in the chicken olympics. You know, out of eight. Obviously a big deal. What are the chicken olympics you ask? Uh who really even knows. But it involved rubber chickens and hopping and I was bad at it. I just love the random things on the cruise ship though.
My winning streak just keeps continuing. Shelley and I nailed our karaoke performance of My Heart Will Go On and won ourselves these trophies and a $1 tip. But let me be clear. This was not a competition or something people give tips at. We were just that good. And when I say good I do not mean our voices but our performance itself. All our impromptu interpretive dance parties with Celine Dion in our apartment paid off. Karaoke is very freeing and exhilarating. It makes a difference when your audience is drunk too.
To be fair our whole group rocked karaoke. I pretty sure everyone loved us and would be surprised to find out that we hadn't been drinking. We just get way into it.
As per usual we hit up the dance club at the end of the night. Got to get all that good energy out somehow.

Had to say goodbye to the cruise and our favorite worker, Shea. The cruise was the exact vacation I need. Being phone and internet free for a few days was so refreshing. I loved hanging out with my friends, relaxing and eating way to much. The fact that we were able to make our own schedule and do whatever we wanted was great. At one point me and my roommates got up for breakfast at 10:30, ate, and went back to bed for a nap. I mean, what's better than that. Free ice cream and pizza available 24/7 wasn't bad either. So glad I was able to make memories and spend some quality time with some great people.
Luckily some of us didn't have to go back to Provo quite yet and were able to spend the day at Huntington Beach. Glad to soak in the sun and ocean air one last time.
